Winter-Spring
These trips focus on going to the outer waters of Mexico during the winter and spring and are some of the most unique whale watching experiences offered from a California-based port. Gray Whales by the dozen are common, with some trips seeing 100 or more! It's also likely to see Humpback Whales. Other possible species include Great White Sharks, Cuvier's Beaked Whales, Fin Whales, Blue Whales, False Killer Whales, Orcas, and multiple species of dolphin and more! Passports are required.
Late Summer and Fall
In the late summer and early fall, Blue, Humpback, Fin, Bryde's, and Minke Whales will all be possible. Peak Humpback sightings are October-early December. Exotic species like Orcas, Sperm Whales, Beaked Whales, Great White Sharks and more are all possible. Passports are required, check trip details before booking. This is the typically the best weather of the year!
